I am Austin Hibbert. I am a Secondary Math Major at UC.

I have a mom, dad, and older brother. I also have one schnauzer dog.

I, unfortunately, went to St. Mary Central High School.

I enjoy drawing, playing bass, gaming, and martial arts.

I am a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and I create my own comic series, The Elementals.

I think I could make a good teacher and math is my strong suit. I would teach some of my martial arts classes as experience.

ISTE Standard reflections

1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student
learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
a. promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
b. engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
c. promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning,
and creative processes
d. model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual
environments

This standard was seen in my perspective when the class did the group penguin stations. It was an inventive way to learn due to the
fact that most in the groups did not have a basic knowledge about penguins. The way in which we were learning about it in the stations
was also creative. One station was figuring out a set of questions using basic books about penguins. Another was a station that should
an informative video about the penguins habitat. The stations were diverse enough with each other to be memorable to take in knowledge.

2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to
maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:
a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
b. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become
active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using
digital tools and resources
d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology
standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

This standard was applied to finding the websites in which interactive activities can be used for learning. The class was required to find
such websites. These websites target a prime interest of those online, games. The sites are able to manipulate the learning of information
as ways to achieve goals in their game. These sites are also helpful to the teacher as well due to the fact that some sites allow them
to make up the information and questions that are distributed through the game. It is a way to make students learn without them knowing
most of the time.

3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
a. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success
and innovation
c. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats
d. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information
resources to support research and learning.

This standard applies to the reason as to why we are in Computer Tools in Teaching. Technology is becoming more abundant through the
teaching process. It is helping teachers to make tools for class at a faster and more efficient rate. This is useful for things like rubrics,
articles, and even projects Aside from most math classes, handwriting has become so illegible for some students that is easier for the
teacher and student to type a paper or assignment. It also helps the typing skills one will need to learn for their future.
